More than Words - March
Our group collectively donated 430 books for More Than Words today. More Than Words is a bookstore, but more importantly, it is a non-profit social enterprise that empowers youth who are in the foster care system, court involved, homeless, or out of school to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business.
They have 2 locations in Massachusetts, one in Boston and another in Waltham.

Habitat for Humanity - ReStore - March
We volunteered at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore located on Lincoln Street in Worcester on Saturday, March 7th from 9:30am - 1:30pm. This was another one of our anniversary projects to commemorate our 35th year! We moved merchandise, discounted items, cleaned, helped customers with their purchases , and anything else they need our assistance with...like stacking shingles! This was such a great event...so rewarding.
If you have never been to ReStore before be sure to check them out. The merchandise moves fast so there is always something to check out!

Warm Hands, Warm Hearts Project - February
Members of the GFWC, Auburn Junior Woman's Club were out last week
placing hats, mittens, and scarves in downtown Worcester for the homeless
(or anyone who needed them) to help them stay warm during the cold
weather.
We always seem to pick the coldest night to hold this event, but it is one
of our favorites! We also stopped by Hotel Grace on Temple Street in
Worcester and left additional supplies there.

Dignity Matters - January
We sent in the proceeds from our 2019 can drive to Dignity Matters , which is a non-profit organization that collects, purchases and supplies feminine hygiene products, bras and underwear to women and girls who are homeless or disadvantaged, in order to help them stay healthy, regain self-confidence, and live with basic dignity. People commonly associate period poverty with developing countries, but it is a significant, hidden and local issue here in America, and, in Massachusetts.
There are women in almost every community in the nation, who cannot afford these necessities, and period protection items are not covered by SNAP benefits.

Not only did she tell the story of the national suffrage movement, but she also discussed the battle over historical memory that obscured the state's leading role.
